Julie Cox
General Manager
Business Development

Julie joined Steens in 2005 and has considerable experience across a number of areas of the business.

Julie plays a critical role in the strategic direction of the firm alongside Paul and Sheryl. Julie is heavily involved in research and development projects and has helped lead this innovative thinking to commercial reality.

She also plays a crucial role in the management and maturing of honey stocks. Julie holds a Bachelor of Science and Technology.

Dan Dear
General Manager
Sales and Marketing

Dan joined Steens in 2014 and has over 16 years of Sales & Marketing experience in the food and nutraceutical industries.

Dan determines the strategy for the branded business at Steens.

In previous roles Dan worked for GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) on international strategy for key brands in their Consumer Healthcare Division. He has also led the geo-expansion and growth of supplement brand Maximuscle, Europe’s largest sports nutrition brand.

Dan has a Bachelor of Commerce, with a double major in Marketing & Management.

Raul Fortunato
General Manager

Raul joined Steens in early 2015 and has vast experience in managing operations on a global scale.

Raul ensures the smooth running of operations – ranging from production to logistics.Raul has worked at an executive level for multinational companies and his previous role was General Manager of Operations for a large Asian based company.

Raul holds degrees in both BSC majoring in Accountancy and a Diploma in Operations Management.

Jo Harris
Hive Unit Manager

Jo joined Steens in 2004 and has over 15 years of experience in the beekeeping industry.Jo’s role as Hive Manager utilises his vast experience in all aspects of beekeeping, from his excellent bee husbandry skills to his vital understanding of the needs of bees and hives.

Jo began his career at a large beekeeping business and has spent 2 seasons in Canada developing his craft.

Paul and Sheryl Steens

Paul and Sheryl Steens have been working in the beekeeping industry for over 35 years and currently own 100% of Steens.

They were founding members of the Active Honey Association and were instrumental in building the profile of Steens across the globe.

Paul and Sheryl emphasise innovation inside the firm and are redefining and developing their business model continuously to maximise quality and performance.
